Lootbound Devlog 1


Hello! I'm Bryan Walter from Monkeybit Games, and today I want to talk about "Lootbound",  A first-person sci-fi horror looting adventure.

• STORY

Lootbound takes place on earth in another timeline, where its common to see civilian air traffic and born-again-robots.
Aliens invade, but then other aliens reluctantly intervene. 
It is now a time of peace and recovery.
Portals are left open in areas infested with unkillable starved entities.
The earthlings initiate a robot task-force incentive to go in and shut them down.

This is where you come in.
In your past life, a human with too much to risk.
Today, a robot with infinite respawns (as long as you can afford it)

The reward? The rare  minerals and tech that spawned from the portals $$$$!

Using a alien-infused tech and your wits, you navigate past monstrosities across a selection of contained levels that explore the lore of this world. Then, you can upgrade your tools to go deeper and find new ways to avoid danger.


• NEXT STEPS
So at the moment, i'm about 60% of where i want to be before i release something playable. Next up:
-Implement bullet glob primary color mixing for different effects (ex. transforming a fire and an energy glob to create a flashbang result)
-Im going to modify the gun to feel and sound more "paintball"ish.
-i need to build more on the NPC behavior trees
-keep working on the 3D models and environment design


• About the dev

This is a solo project I started back in February and I hope to get something playable in a few months.
It's still in the prealpha stage,  and a LOT can still change (it's nowhere near what the game originally was when i first started on it), 
but I intend to see this project to the end. I'm in the fortunate place to be able to work on this full time so i program, 3D, 2D all of it.
